LimeLight™ is ideal for any part of your face, neck and décolleté with skin redness, telangiectasia (tiny veins) or brown spots. The laser specialists at the Aesthetic & Vein Center MD have found that most light (low contrast) brown spots, which were previously difficult to resolve, respond well to treatment. Other areas of the body, such as the hands and the forearms, may be treated with nice results, particularly for brown spots.

You will experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation with each pulse. Gel is used to cool the skin before vascular treatments (skin redness and telangiectasia).

Treatment time depends on the area of the body being treated, but most treatments should take approximately 30 to 45 minutes.

We typically recommend a series of three treatments. Our specialists may recommend additional treatments, especially for individuals with excessively sun-damaged skin.

Immediately following treatment, brown spots will start to darken and your skin may appear slightly red. The treated area may be mildly swollen. The swelling and redness typically last a few hours and possibly a day or longer. Make-up may be applied to the treated area. The dark spots will flake off and fade within one to three weeks.

You should notice an improvement of your skin condition within two to four weeks, sometimes sooner. However, you should always apply broad-spectrum sunscreen when outdoors to minimize sun damage and the appearance of new spots and diffuse redness. Remember that rosacea is a chronic condition and cannot be cured with any laser or light source; however, its appearance can be improved and controlled.
