Over time, stress, aging and environmental factors work against our skin. One of the great ways to treat facial wrinkles is the use of neuromodulators (like BOTOX® Cosmetic, Xeomin®, Dysport®, and more recently Jeuveau®). Those agents, all similar in nature, are particularly valuable for smoothing and relieving wrinkles on the forehead, the frowning area, around the eyes (crow’s feet) and lips, as well the chin; they can also be used to create some eyebrow elevation.
WHAT IS BOTOX® COSMETIC?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein derived from the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum and has been available in the United States for over 15 years. We purchase our BOTOX® Cosmetic directly from Allergan®, the only FDA-approved source in the U.S.

HOW IS BOTOX® COSMETIC ADMINISTERED?
Using a very fine needle, Dr. Miller carries out a few injections of a small amount of the neuromodulator into precise points of the treatment area.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
After your consultation with Dr. Miller, the actual BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment takes less than 15 minutes and is performed by Dr. Miller himself. This treatment can be done during your lunch break; there is no downtime and no one would know you had it done!
HOW DOES BOTOX® COSMETIC WORK?
The protein is injected into a targeted facial expression muscle, blocking nerve impulses and relaxing the muscle so it does not contract. This causes the overlying skin to become smoother, with fewer lines and wrinkles. The injectable may also be used to create a gentle eyebrow lift, giving you a brighter look. The untreated facial muscles continue to contract in a natural manner, allowing the normal facial expression and feeling to be unaffected.
HOW QUICKLY WILL I SEE RESULTS?
BOTOX® Cosmetic typically starts relaxing the treated area within several days, but the full effect may not be realized for 10 to 14 days.
HOW LONG WILL BOTOX® COSMETIC LAST?
The effects last three (3) months on average, but everyone is different. We encourage our patients to have the treatment every 12 weeks.
