What is Juvéderm Voluma^™ XC?

Juvéderm Voluma^™ XC (“Voluma”), like all fillers offered at AVCMD, is FDA-approved. It instantly improves age-induced volume loss in the cheeks. Rather than filling and refilling the folds of the nasolabial area (side of the nose towards the mouth), Dr. Miller uses Voluma to enhance the cheek, thereby creating a subtle mid-face lift. This means that the cause (the flattening cheeks that become more apparent after the age of 40) is treated, not the consequence (sagging skin and deeper nasolabial folds).

What is Voluma^™ made from?

Voluma^® contains a modified hyaluronic acid, a naturally-occurring, hydrating substance that is found in your skin.

What is the advantage of Voluma^™?

The results of a Voluma^™ treatment will last at least 12 to 15 months in the majority of patients, and can last for up to two years. Not only does this require fewer trips to your physician, but this means that patients do not have to undergo injections as often as with other facial fillers. Patients can return to normal levels of activity after only 24 hours. In fact, since Dr Miller uses a cannula technique, the chance of any bruising is minimal and most patients go right back to their usual activities (except for gym). Although it is rarely needed, it is also nice to know that the filler can be melted in about 48 hours with a product called hyaluronidase.
